This site is a way of documenting my time living in Zambia and to help raise both awareness and funds for the teachers and children of Zambia. As well as equip them with both on-going mentorship and resources. My business ‘Tinkerbird Design and Co’ is themed after the ‘Tinker’ bird in Zambia. Even-though small in stature, the Tinkerbell birdsong travels across the Zambian landscape, filling the African plains and African bush with sweet melodies. It is the hope that ‘Tinkerbird Design and Co’, though small in stature, will like the bird, carry a song that will reach those in need, especially the little people of Zambia.
My Story
My name is Susanna Newmarch. I grew up in Aotearoa, New Zealand, working as a Primary and Early Childhood teacher and dedicating my life to walking in faith and love with the knowledge that the Lord Jesus Christ guides my every step. I have a heart for children and education and have long held the dream of one day living and working in Africa. Meeting my husband Damian has brought this dream into reality and now I have the privilege to live in Zambia…..
